Partner With Us This Holiday Season
Partnership. This is what has made our work so effective in recent years, and it is the key to continuing that work in the future. With the opening of A Safe Place Family Justice Center one year ago, Clackamas Women’s Services and its partners are now able to offer a complete slate of services in one location and survivors are no longer forced to go from agency to agency retelling their stories.
We want to share one of the many stories that illustrates the success of the partnerships we have cultivated. Robin had experienced domestic violence at the hands of her partner for years. And for years, that abuse had pushed her out on the streets, leaving her homeless and caught up in addiction to cope with the pain. Her young son had seen the violence at home and had experienced these episodes of homelessness. Robin and her son came to A Safe Place looking for help. There, she connected with case workers at the Oregon DHS office who helped meet her needs for self-sufficiency.
One of CWS’ mental health counselors referred Robin to a substance abuse program, where she is now on the road to recovery. Our financial empowerment advocate helped her find a job with a stable income. She also was able to access housing services and she is now living in a confidential location with her son, who is residing in a calm, safe home for what is likely the first time in his life.
By giving to CWS today, you will help us support survivors like Robin. Click here to contribute to our 2014 Holiday Challenge!
In the New Year, CWS will continue to work diligently to ensure that all survivors of violence who walk through the doors of our shelter, A Safe Place Family Justice Center, and our rural outreach office have access to the services they need to move towards healing. By joining today, your generous gift will help us harness opportunities in the coming year to pave the way towards safety, justice and healing for survivors of domestic and sexual assault.
