Counseling & Support Groups

Counseling

We provide mental health services for adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, elder abuse, and sexual exploitation & trafficking. Survivors can access individual or family counseling to support long-term healing from violence and abuse. Our counselors practice several different modalities and can work with survivors to identify what they’d like to work on and what you’d like to get out of counseling sessions. We provide counseling in Spanish and English. If it is safe to do so, insurance will be billed for mental health therapy.

Our counseling program does not provide counseling for couples or family counseling with the person who has harmed you, medication management, or support with drug and alcohol recovery.

If you’d like to speak with a counselor about counseling options, reach out to us for more info.

Domestic and sexual violence survivors deserve mental health care that acknowledges the dynamics of interpersonal violence. Our counselors bring expertise in the intricacies of family violence to every therapy session.

Support Groups

We offer a number of different support groups to the community, including domestic violence groups, sexual assault support groups, parenting groups, self-care groups, and healing art workshops. Each of these gives survivors an opportunity to connect with others who’ve had similar experiences and to support others who may be at different stages in their journey toward healing. Support groups provide space and time for survivors to focus on themselves. Some of our groups have a set curriculum, while others are led by input from the group about what topics they’d like to discuss together. Our support group offerings change throughout the year, and you can see current and upcoming support groups on our calendar. Advocates on our 24-hour Crisis and Support Line (888) 654-2288 can help answer questions about what attending support group is like.
